During the 2018 Super Bowl one automaker seemed to be all over the place – Ram trucks. During almost every quarter of the game between the Philadelphia Eagles and the New England Patriots, we saw a TV commercial for a Ram truck. Those of us that started driving before 2010 can remember when it was the Dodge Ram truck. Now, Ram is its own division of Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge and Ram and millions are considering buying a Ram truck. While southern California is not exactly the Rocky Mountains, there are still plenty of reasons as to why a driver might want to consider a pickup truck.
Over the past 30 years the Ford F Series and the Chevrolet Silverado have been the best selling pickup trucks in both California and throughout the United States. Even though the Ram has worked very hard to advertise their trucks, it has been an uphill battle to catch up with the Ford and Chevy pickup trucks.
After spending millions of dollars on Super Bowl commercials in early 2018, we are starting to see a pickup, no pun intended, in Ram truck sales in February 2018. It will be very interesting to see if their Presidents Day sales push helps close the gap with both Ford and Chevrolet.
As more data comes out for light vehicle and truck sales, we will better understand the effectiveness of the Ram Super Bowl TV commercials. Have you noticed more Ram trucks on the road in Los Angeles, San Diego and other parts of California? After watching the Super Bowl, did you research the new Ram truck options available?
