Waze, the popular navigation app utilized its 2015 Thanksgiving usage to predict the best and worst times to travel in Los Angeles during the week of Thanksgiving. The AAA stated that between Wednesday, November 24th and Sunday, November 27th, nearly 49 million people will travel 50 miles or more. On Tuesday, November 22nd, ABC7 captured an aerial view video of vehicles in a complete standstill on the 405 Freeway.
To avoid the stress that often comes with holiday travel, Waze suggested that drivers refrain from driving to or from home on Wednesday, November 23rd from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and all day Sunday, November 27th when traffic jams are expected.
Drivers who are looking to plan their travel times based on when the Los Angeles roadways will be open should travel on Thursday, November 24th, which is Thanksgiving Day, or Friday, November 25th, and Saturday, November 26th, the two days following the Thanksgiving holiday.
